Business and Professional Women

All kinds of facilitations, including legislations, should be provided in order to support woman empowerment and sustain her contribution to the private sector, participants at a workshop said Sunday.
The one-day workshop on employing women in the private sector in GCC countries, organized by the Arab Planning Institute (API), emphasized that contribution of GCC women to the economic field is still bound to the public sector despite women potential.
Women participation in the job market caught attention of development experts, said API Director General Dr. Bader Malallah in a speech on behalf of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Development and Planning Affairs Dr. Hind Al-Sabeeh.
Despite the growing numbers of women participation in economy, they remains below expectations and do not reflect academic and cultural capacities of women in the Gulf region, he noted.
He further said that challenges hindering the evolvement of the role of women in economy should be tackled through legislations that would raise awareness and promote the concept of women at the work place and economy in general.
