The Emirates Women Police Association and the Emirates College of Technology have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in education, training, and consulting services, as well as to organize initiatives and conferences aimed at promoting the association’s services to the Women Police sector in the country.
Major Amina Al Baloushi, Chairperson of the Emirates Women Police Association and Dr. Bruce Taylor, President of the Emirates College of Technology, signed the MoU, which includes granting scholarships to the association’s members. These scholarships would allow the association’s members to seek a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology; Human Resources Management; Media and Public Relations; Financial and Banking Sciences and its various disciplines; and in Graphic Design. It also aims at providing discounts on those Diploma programs, as well as providing annual training for the association’s cadres, based on an applied methodology to study and analyze the functional skills needs, and special scholarships for computer, English, and management courses.
Under the MoU, the Emirates Women Police Association would benefit from the advisory services provided by the Emirates College of Technology in Information Technology, and from the College’s contribution in organizing initiatives and conferences and other related events.
Al Baloushi noted that the memorandum of understanding will provide further boost the scientific development for the association’s members, and will upgrade their skills in a way that best serves the police work and improve the association’s services and performance.
For his part, Professor Bruce Taylor indicated that the Emirates College of Technology is committed, as per its strategic plans, to the social responsibility concept by providing educational opportunities to all of the U.A.E. citizens; by helping out those who wish to pursue academic attainment. He praised the Women Police Association’s role in supporting women working with the police force and in serving the community.
