Sejong - Yonhap
Childbirths in South Korea increased for a third straight month in June, statistics showed Wednesday, a positive sign as the government strives to raise the country's chronically low birthrate.
According to Statistics Korea, the number of babies born in June came to some 34,200, up 3 percent, or 1,000, from the same month a year earlier. This followed 1.9 percent and 0.8 percent gains in April and May.
