HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the graduation ceremony of the 2017 batch of universities of the Education City. The Function was organized by Qatar Foundation (QF) at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of QF, also honored the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies ministers, sons of HH the Father Amir, Sheikhs, senior officials, deans of the faculties, members of the administrative and teaching bodies of the universities and parents of graduates.
HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser delivered a speech on the occasion in which she announced the launch of an award entitled "Our Morals", which will be awarded to "those who have great morals of youth".
Her Highness urged the graduates not to forget that knowledge is peer to ethics, pointing that ethics are what directs knowledge to the service of humanity. HH Sheikha Moza added that no human civilization could survive without this dualism of ethics and knowledge.
Her Highness stressed that 'As long as Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is our reference and our role model we shall find no difficulties in setting standards of good morals in mercy, tolerance, honesty and generosity .. Standards agreed upon by different religions and cultures.' Concluding her speech, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser prayed to "Almighty Allah to "grant us the best of morals as He well created us.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem, then the entry of the 765 graduates, followed by screening of a film about the graduating students.
