Two Egyptian universities have come out on top out of a leading group of 50 institutions in Africa, according to a Spanish study which ranked the best universities in the world. Cairo University occupied 10th position, while the American University in Cairo ranked 13th. Mansoura University gained 15th position and Ain Shams University was 17th. According to the report, Assiut University took 19th position and Azhar University was 29th. Alexandria University occupied 36th position, while Tanta University was 41st. Helwan University ranked 49th position.
