One of Effat University’s major goals in its next five-year strategic plan is to adopt the innovative Learning Organization Model. In this, students and employees, including faculty and senior managers, continuously learn and encourage learning in order to create a more knowledgeable, flexible workforce, one that is able to adapt quickly to cultural change. Besides academically, students will be evaluated on their creativity and on the contributions they make – especially innovative ones — to their respective departments, colleges and the community at large. Their reward will match the quality of impacts they make across the board. Faculty rewards will match the continuous improvements they make to their courses, as well as their involvement in the university and community along with their real contributions to both. All courses will be reviewed to make sure they reflect the creative changes required by the new learning model. Existing business processes will also be reviewed to the same end. By implementing this innovative model, the university hopes to be more adaptive to the external environment, enhance its ability to change and adapt, develop collective as well as individual learning, provide continuous learning opportunities, use learning outcomes to achieve better results, and use deep learning and knowledge to reach its goals. Groups of experts in the learning model will work closely with the university’s steering committee to finalize the project road map. The execution of this plan is under the supervision of Haifa Jamal Allail, president of Effat University, and in coordination with Hafid Agourram, general supervisor of strategic planning and institutional advancement.
