Cairo - MENA
Al-Azhar University warned the Egyptian people against heeding calls to raise copies of the Holy Quran during pro-Muslim Brotherhood protests planned for Friday.
The objective of such calls is to sow sedition and undermine the state, misguiding the citizens under the cloak of religion, the university said in a statement on Saturday.
It urged the Egyptian society to fight such destructive ideas to restore the unity and coherence of the Muslim nation.
