Washington - KUNA
A visiting delegation of Kuwaiti Ministry of Education and Higher Education has discussed with officials of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Washington means of facilitating communications between Kuwaiti students studying in the US with the cultural offices of the Gulf State.
The head of the bureau, Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Dhafiri, said in a statement to KUNA that the talks focused on a host of issues that conern the students, such as choosing specializations that conform with modern developments in relevant fields.
Dr. Al-Dhafiri underscored necessity of preparing the Kuwaiti students well before being enrolled in the American universities, hinting at the need for special English language courses and education about the local laws during the preparatory phase.
The students can get such guidance from non-profit institutes that aim to build cooperation bridges at this level.
The discussions dealt with diverse technical topics, possibility of moving headquarters of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Washington to a larger building due to need for more offices and enrollment of more staff.
The Kuwaiti students encounter various problems while studying in the US, such as failure to proceed with the studies, changing the specialization and studies' disruption due to illness.
