Fayyoum's police chief Hassan Abu Amer on Monday inspected schools in the Upper Egyptian province on Sunday.
Millions of Egyptian students flocked to their schools on Saturday and Sunday as the new school year begins this week.
Abu Amer called for cooperation with police in their efforts to wipe out terrorism in the country.
