Al Azhar and the Ministry of Military Production on Tuesday signed a cooperation protocol that aims at training students along with upgrading colleges and institutions of the highest seat of Sunni Islam.
The deal was inked by Minister of Military Production Mohamed el Assar and Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb.
The protocol is a start of a fruitful cooperation and the Military Production Ministry will do its utmost to offer services and transfer expertise to Al Azhar, said minister Assar.
Under the protocol, the ministry would open doors of its labs and vocational training centers to Al Azhar engineering and information technology students.
Al Azhar engineering junior professors and teacher will be offered training courses by the military production-affiliate engineering colleges, as part of the protocol.
Also, the protocol entails the supervision of the ministry on the graduation projects of Al Azhar engineering students with a view to providing required materials and research in this regard.
Meanwhile, the grand imam expressed confidence in the human and technical capabilities of the Military Production Ministry, affirming that it is able to improve all the facilities of Al Azhar.
Tayyeb stressed the necessity of abiding by the protocol in order to serve Al Azhar students and professors as well as remove all obstacles facing them.
