Abu Dhabi Ports delegation represented by Abu Dhabi Marine Services, SAFEEN, and in cooperation with Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, visited Delma Elementary School in Al Dhafra Region to enhance maritime safety practices among students.
The visit comes as part of Abu Dhabi Ports’ campaign to raise awareness of marine safety and in line with its CSR initiatives in the neighbouring communities of Al Dhafra egion.
Abu Dhabi Ports delegation was welcomed by school administration and students. The delegation gave a presentation to increase awareness among students of ways to prevent various kinds of dangers ship passengers might encounter. They demonstrated ways to use lifejackets and follow safety procedures.
"School visits are part of our CSR commitment towards the communities around our ports. We are eager to educate the students and raise their safety awareness about using our port’s facilities. Our visit aims to educate students of the concept of marine safety and highlight the importance of following proper safety procedures to avoid any dangers. It is important to provide students with guidance for conducting a drill regimen and to educate them on the procedures they should follow in case of emergencies. The safety of our sons and daughters is of utmost importance to us," said Maktoum Al Houqani, Chief Marine Services Officer, at SAFEEN.
At the end of the visit, SAFEEN delegation distributed life vests to the students. Abu Dhabi Ports has five ports in Al Dafra Region: Marfa, Delma, Al Sila, Mugharraq and Sir Bani Yas.
