Aiming to help children learn about wildlife, nature and their local environment, the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort is hosting the third edition of the Children’s Art Tent. The programme, which will be held from Jan.23-28, is free to all ticket holders visiting the park and will incorporate various workshops and activities aimed at children between 4—15 years old. Professional artists and instructors will be on hand to teach and encourage children in their chosen activity which will include mask-making, painting on canvas, finger-painting and puppet making in addition to other creative workshops. An exhibition of all the children’s artwork will be displayed in the Tent. A giant mural featuring work by all the children will be on view to parents and visitors at the close of the Art Tent, which is being organised by the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF). Last year’s event saw more than 2,000 visitors attend the park during Art Tent and the 2012 event hopes to be even bigger and better with more activities and more artistic challenges for our young guests. Speaking about the previous Art Tent Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, founder of ADMAF, said, “The success of the Children’s Art Tent has always been down to children’s natural ability and affinity with art. ADMAF’s education programme is the cornerstone of our foundation and it delights me to see how much children can be energised and inspired by art.” “We strongly believe, and will continue to promote, art and culture as key elements in a child’s education.”
