Cairo - KUNA
Kuwait TV band performed for over two hours a folk concert in Egypt, carrying a message of love from the people of Kuwait to the Egyptian nation. The message was delivered through the band's performance within the Ministry of Information's participation in the media and cultural events taking place on sidelines of the Cairo International Book Fair. The band's participation comes as an introduction of the Kuwaiti folk art to the fraternal Egyptian people, Kuwait TV band manager Ahmad Al-Qatami told KUNA. The band, which consists of 40 members, was established in 1978 with the aim of preserving the musical heritage of Kuwait, Al-Qatami said. The beginnings of the band's establishment witnessed the contribution of a number of Egyptian music trainers such as Salwa Talab, Alaa Al-Sharbini and Dr. Hassan Khalil, he added. Al-Qatami praised the role of the Ministry of Information in preserving such a heritage through its continuous support for Kuwait's TV band.
