Singapore's Straits Times on Monday highlighted the visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the country.
The paper said Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong were keen to meet with the president of the biggest Arab country and one of the influential countries in the Middle East region for talks on the economic cooperation between the two sides along with international politics.
It said Egypt and Singapore have established relations 25 years ago as Egypt has been the first to acknowledge Singapore independence.
The paper also shed light on Sisi's visit to Harmony Center and the role of Azhar in spreading moderate Islam as well as the values of co-existence and tolerance.
