Algiers - APS
Minister of Communication, Hamid Grine, on Saturday in Algiers urged the national public and private press to "promote" Algeria’s image abroad.
Speaking to the National Radio Channel 3, the minister called for "professionalizing the press and establishing culture of performance and the culture of optimism" since "everything is not dark in Algeria."
He hoped to see the Algerian press have a vision of marketing to promote the image of the country.
Grine has also announced a government project to create an agency for the promotion of Algeria’s image, which will work in coordination with several ministries to "give the best image of the country."
However, he regretted that "many projects and achievements are made by Algeria, but are not publicized and highlighted by media."
"We have an exceptional social model and I wish that the national press, either private or public, publicize such an achievement abroad," he stressed.
"Which country has distributed as many houses, free or almost, to its people," noted Grine, underlining that "since 1999, Algeria advocates an extraordinary social policy which should be highlighted abroad."
