Turkey's first space agency

Legislative preparations to build a space agency have been completed, Turkey's Transportation Minister Lutfi Elvan said.
In a visit to Ankara-based Turkish Aerospace Industries, or TAI on Wednesday, Elvan said the research activities on space exploration would be managed from one center and steps related to that would be speeded up.
We will present the legislation to the Council of Ministers and then to Turkish Parliament, after taking views from related institutions, said Elvan.
Leading space exploring agencies in the world are NASA of the U.S., Russian Federal Space Agency, European Space Agency formed by some EU-member nations and Indian Space Research Organization.
