Killing Shaimaa el-Sabagh

The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of a police officer over the killing of activist Shaimaa el Sabagh to June 7.

Sabagh, a leading member of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party, was shot dead during a peaceful rally on January 24 to commemorate the martyrs of the January 25 revolution on its fourth anniversary near Cairo's iconic Tahrir Square.

The court postponed the trial to listen to more testimonies in the case.
