Turkish Association of Consumer and Environmental Education (TUKCEV) gave on Saturday its \"Nature and Environment Media Awards.\" Friend of the Nature and Environment Awards were given at the ceremony held  at the Museum of Ulucanlar Prison in Turkish capital of Ankara. Anadolu Agency (AA) Chairman of the Board and the Director General Kemal Ozturk was granted the \"Friend of the Nature and Environment Award\" as the head of Anadolu Agency publishing the highest number of news and photos on the nature and environment. TUKCEV aims to raise environmental awareness and draw attention to and develop solutions for the related problems of population increase, unplanned urbanization and consumption greed. Highlighting the awards are given for personal achievements rather than institutional, TUKCEV Chairman Beyhan Aslan called upon the media to establish special desks for environmental news. As  AA Director General Kemal Ozturk was abroad,AA Prime Ministry Correspondent Kadir Karakus received the award on behalf of him from Ankara Representative of the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA) Mukadder Ekremoglu.
