The role of Arab media in the events shaking some countries of the region was discussed during a conference-debate under the theme ’’Media and Arab revolutions’’, held in the late Friday in Algiers at the Algerian League for human Rights Defence (LADDH) headquarters. In his address, the writer-journalist Mustapha Hemici noted that the media in the Arab world ’’have always been an extension of the powers in place,’’ meaning that their role was not ’’determining in what is called the Arab revolutions.’’
