The Centre for Defending the Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) on Saturday voiced its full support for Al Arab Al Yawm daily employees after the owner decided to suspend its publication for two months. In a statement which was received by The Jordan Times, the centre said the decision reflects on press freedoms in Jordan and highlights the abuses journalists are subjected to in Jordan. The CDFJ warned that Jordan’s media industry is in “danger” and that media outlets should not be treated like other economic activities because they are one of the pillars of democracy. CDFJ President Nidal Mansour called for rectifying the situation at the paper and not neglecting the rights of its workers. Souce: The Jordan Times
