Egypt’s Press Association have called for a boycott on the country’s public prosecutor Tallat Abdullah, expressing solidarity with its leader Gamal Fahmy who refused to appear before the judicial official. The organisation objects to the way Egyptian lawyers have dealt with the case of Husseiny Abu Dief, a journalist killed during clashes with Muslim Brotherhood supporters outside Cairo’s Ittihadiya presidential palace. Press Association member Khaled el-Balshy told Arabstoday: “We have decided not to deal with Egypt’s public prosecutor because it has undermined its legitimacy.”
