Director of the State Council Information Office of China Cai Mingzhao has pitched for better media understanding between Nepal and China. Cai, who is on a four-day official visit to the Himalayan Republic, met with President Ram Baran Yadav on Friday. He said the purpose of his visit to the country is to promote media exchanges between the two countries as it is important to develop people to people relation. \"China and Nepal are connected by the same mountains. The relation between the two countries is like that of teeth and jaw. The exchange of information will help unite us more,\" said Cai. He added that China attaches greater importance to Nepal and it\'s important to promote media exchange. The director also paid visits to the country\'s state owned media houses, Nepal Television (NTV) and Gorkhapatra Cooperation, print media. Nepal Television General Manager Laxman Humagain thanked the Chinese Government for the financial and technical assistance it had provided for establishing NTV Metro, one of the two channels belonging to NTV. The Chinese government had provided technical as well as financial assistance for the establishment of the NTV Metro in 2003. Five months ago, NTV had also signed an agreement with China\'s CCTV to air programs of the television. Later in the day, Cai also met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire and Minister for Information and Communication Madhav Prasad Paudel, requesting both of them to boost media ties. Cai arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday following the visit to India.
