The Anadolu Agency has organized a written exam for candidates seeking to enter its journalism training program. The \"News Academy\", AA\'s division working to cultivate a new generation of journalists, held a written exam on Wednesday to select candidates for its \"Agency Journalism Certificate Program.\" The program focuses on news-writing in English, as well as other skills for journalism. Successful participants will be employed at the agency’s English News Desk. Wednesday\'s exam, consisting in three sessions, saw 383 candidates answer questions designed to test their level of knowledge and interest in world events. They were also expected to write short essays and make translations in English-Turkish language pair, as a measure of their linguistic skills. The successful candidates will be interviewed next week, the final phase of assessment before they are admitted into the three-month program, which will begin on September 2. Participants of the \"Agency Journalism Certificate Program\" will have 420 hours of training over twelve weeks, 280 devoted to theory and 140 to practice.
