Tata’s svelte city-car concept has premiered at Geneva, denoting the Indian automaker’s future design direction. Making its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, the Tata Megapixel showcases the Indian automaker\'s vision of what a modern city car could look like in the not-so-distant future.Evolving the three-door Pixel concept revealed at last year\'s event, Tata says it now has a base for a production model that would target Europe and other western markets. Measuring in at 3,504mm long, 1,673mm wide, and 1,405mm tall, it is a tad smaller than the new Fiat Panda. The Megapixel comes equipped with double sliding doors on both sides for ease of access, which is further enhanced by the removal of a B-pillar.Seating four, the range-extended electric vehicle, or REEV, combines four in-wheel electric motors that each deliver 13hp and which are fed by a lithium-ion phosphate battery. An onboard 0.3-liter single-cylinder gasoline engine act as a generator for recharging when on the move, and Tata claim the Megapixel offers a driving range of up to 560 miles on a single tank of fuel.Speaking at the Megapixel\'s presentation at Geneva, Tata\'s MD Prakash M. Telang said: \"The Tata Megapixel, developed by our design centres in India, the UK and Italy, is our idea of a city car for discerning motorists in any megacity of the world. It is a result of the progress we have made on the Tata Pixel, displayed last year, and also denotes the company\'s future design direction.\"
