It looks like more credit is being given to the recent rumors that BMW is working on a naming change. Even though the new F32 and F33 3-Series coupe and cabrio are well on their way to becoming production reality, the test prototypes we caught sight of recently show no resemblance in the headlights to the F30 sedan. What’s more, a Gran Coupe is coming to the range, reportedly badged as a 4-Series, not a 3-Series so as not to overlap with the existing sedan. According to Auto Express, the new four-door coupe is very much a reality, and the car will arrive in late 2013, slotting between the 3-Series and 5-Series. The front end of the car should look exactly like that on a 4-Series coupe, but the car will have a longer body. The engine range will include both four- and six-cylinder units, most likely culminating with a 450 hp straight-six in the M4 Gran Coupe, which as of yet is unconfirmed.
