The Alfa Romeo 4C will go on sale one of these days. We know we\'ve written about this particular subject a few times. By now, we were hoping to report to you that the Alfa Romeo 4C was on its way to dealerships across the U.S. and Europe. Sadly, that\'s not happening just yet. That doesn\'t mean never, however. In a report coming from the Wall Street Journal, Maserati, which, like Alfa Romeo, is also owned by Fiat S.p.A, plans to begin production in May, 2013 on a couple of new models.Set to be built near Turin, Italy, not only will Maserati be building a new sedan that will likely be the Quattroporte replacement, but they\'ll also be handling production for the long-promised Alfa Romeo 4C sports car. In the past, Maserati also built the drop-dead gorgeous 8C Competizione. The 4C is very important for Alfa Romeo (and parent company Fiat) because the model marks their big return to the North American market. The choice of Maserati building the cars may at first seem a bit unusual because they\'ve normally been known for producing cars in fairly limited numbers This is obviously changing now as Maserati has said they want to reach 50,000 unit sales a year by 2015. Interestingly, the upcoming Maserati Kubang SUV will be built in the good old USA at sister company Chrysler\'s Jefferson North plant in Detroit, Michigan. This is where the Jeep Grand Cherokee is built, which the Kubang is based on.While the 4C\'s launch date has been pushed back a few times, we think it\'s going to be well worth the wait. For now, Fiat is saying the 4C will begin production in May, 2013.
