Volkswagen unveiled a new GTS version of the lovely Scirocco at the Leipzig Motor Show, an homage to the original Mark II Scirocco GTS. Being a race-bred car, the GTS Scirocco features a unique body kit, special detailing inside and out, different wheels, and a punchy 210-hp TSI engine. We’re just not sure if like those stripes. The Scirocco is a cool car, but the stripes make it look stupid. The GTS comes with a number of exterior appointments including sport side skirts, new rear diffuser, side moldings, flared wheel arches, red mirror caps, racing stripes – as mentioned, and 18-inch wheels, as well as a couple of GTS badges.Inside the cabin, the car gets black leather seats with red stitching, aluminum sport pedals, and a unique Golf ball gear knob, like the one on the Mark II model. The Scirocco is one of the finest coupes in the European market. But Volkswagen is reluctant to send it over the pond to the U.S. market. The Yanks are going to have to wait a bit longer.
