The first car to ever get a speeding ticket will be displayed at the prestigious Concours of Elegance taking place in Hampton Court Palace. The luxurious palace grounds in England has been playing host to the concours since 2014.

According to the Financial Express, the first car to ever receive a speeding ticket will be on display. The car in question is an 1896 Arnold Benz Motor Carriage that was travelling four times the speed limit! The Motor Carriage will be on display at the Concours alongside several other ultra-luxe collector automobiles from the several epochs of automotive history. But how fast was the Motor Carriage going?

Way ahead of its time, the Arnold Benz Motor Carriage was travelling on the streets at 13kmh. Yes, thirteen. It was going 'so fast' that it had to be pulled over by a policeman riding, of all things -  a bicycle.

Now that paragraph may sound outrageous but back then, the speed limit was 3.2kmh. 'Cars' also had to be led by a man on foot waving a red flag. Since the mechanical wonder of that was the Motor Carriage wasn't doing that, the car, and its driver was subsequently fined.

Nowadays, speeds of 13kmh could take you ages to get from point a to point b. Back then, that was already enough speed to a 'road trip'.
