More than 100 city workers were busy clearing trash at Hua Hin beach in Thailand Saturday after monsoon winds littered it with garbage. Every year between October and mid-November, monsoon winds blow southwestward from Chon Buri toward Prachuap Khiri Khan on the opposite side of the Gulf of Thailand, and pull ashore waste that\'s been floating out at sea, the Bangkok Post reported. Hua Hin Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul said tourists should be aware that swimming conditions could be poor during this period, which local people call the lom wao, or \"kite wind,\" and that they may come in contact with potentially harmful waste floating in the sea.
