Weather in UAE

Dust storm and cloudy weather will continue in the UAE on Saturday and Sunday, with a chance of rainfall in some areas, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) reported.
Despite the dusty weather, Dubai residents who were attending outdoor
Mohannad Shaath, 25, who completed the Spartan race- a 5km obstacle race - on Friday said the sand/dust storm was actually helpful. "It was perfect because the sandy and cloudy weather blocked the sun and helped me complete the race easier and faster. The sand storm was not that bad, growing up here I have seen a lot worse and it did not affect my day negatively,” he said.
Sara Marks, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, Media and PR Manager, said the tennis matches on the day were not affected as well. "We brushed the tennis courts in the morning and everything proceeded normally.”
The NCMS forecast said that Saturday and Sunday will witness similar dust storm and partly cloudy weather with moderate to strong southern winds changing gradually to moderate to strong north western winds, especially over the sea.
The winds will cause the continued blowing of dust into the country, which in turn will continue to cause reduced horizontal visibility with a significant fall in temperatures on the day, said the dust did not affect them or their events.
The NCMS report also revealed that clouds will increase over the islands, coastal and northern areas, with a chance of rainfall. The centre expects that there will be rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
