Solar power company in US

A US-based company will build two solar power plants in Myanmar that will produce 10 to 12 per cent of the country's energy needs, dpa quoted a US official as saying Thursday.
The solar stations, which will produce a total of 300 megawatts in the Mandalay region, are a scaled-down version of what had originally been projected to be a 1,000-megawatt project.
In a telephone briefing from Myanmar, US Trade Representative Michael Froman said the 480-million-dollar project follows up on a promise by US President Barack Obama to support Myanmar people with economic development.
The solar project will bring to about 1 billion dollars the total of US investments in Myanmar, Froman said.
