An electricity observatory said on Saturday that power deficit was expected to hit 3,440 megawatts compared to 2,050 megawatts on Friday.
In a daily bulletin, the Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency said that the maximum power load today was projected to hit 25,850 megawatts, compared to 24,340 on Friday.
The minimum power load Friday was 19,180 megawatts, it added.
Egypt is trying to reduce the consumption of electricity as many people complain of daily power cuts.
