 Emirates Transport, ET, has transported, through its logistics services centre, 77.3 million gallons of petroleum products during the first half of 2017, consisting of 8 million gallons of aviation fuel and 69 million gallons of petrol and diesel.

Waleed Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Transport and Rental Division of ET, said that the company had received, at the beginning of 2017, international recognition in the field of logistics services to the petrochemical and chemical transportation sector, after being awarded the Safety and Quality Assessment System (SQAS)certificate, which is accredited by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association, GPCA, as well as membership to the International Cargo Handling Coordination Association, ICHCA.

He stated that these achievements reflected positively on the trust of ET’s clients in their transportation services, especially in the area of petroleum transportation. He also considers the SQAS certificate to be an international recognition of ET’s desire to provide logistics services according to the highest international standards of quality and sustainability, in line with the country’s goals of achieving environmental sustainability and economic development.

Al Muhairi explained that ET’s petroleum transportation vehicles have travelled, from the start of the year to the end of June, some 3 million kilometres to transport 77.3 million gallons of petroleum products, as well as 2.7 million gallons of crude oil, 36,525 tonnes of plastics and 37,580 tonnes of liquid sulphur for clients in various parts of the country.

He also stressed that ET aims to apply the highest levels of security, safety, and local and international quality, when providing its services in this vital sector, while maintaining its institutional values of safety and responsibility, as well as providing efficient and professional services.
