Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has been awarded both the Sword of Honour for health and safety, and the Globe of Honour for environment from the British Safety Council. The two awards were received by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, on behalf of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, at an awards ceremony at Drapers' Hall in London.

This year, DEWA is one of seven organisations worldwide to receive the Globe of Honour, which DEWA has achieved for the 4th consecutive year, and one of 50 organisations worldwide awarded with the Sword of Honour, which DEWA has achieved for the 8th consecutive year. DEWA is one of only seven organisations globally who were awarded with both the Sword of Honour and Globe of Honour.

"In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the sustainable development, and to support the green economy, DEWA has achieved excellent environmental results, thanks to its adherence to international environmental regulations and the highest standards related to air emissions, solid and liquid waste, and comprehensive marine and land protection," said Al Tayer.

"This prestigious award by the British Safety Council, is an international recognition of the successful approach and environmental strategies and policies adopted by DEWA," he added.
