Tadweer, the Waste Management Centre

Tadweer, the Waste Management Centre - Abu Dhabi, has begun a campaign which will see the removal of wild trees on Dalma Island as part of efforts to deliver pest control in support of public health, and the preservation of the general appearance of the city.
During the campaign, which is in partnership with the Department of Municipal Affairs of the Al Dhafra Region, trees will be harvested and the cultivated areas cleaned to ensure their safety from environmental hazards, such as becoming potential shelter for insects and rodents which may affect public health.
Mohsen Al Amri, Tadweer Branch Manager in Al Dhafra, said the campaign falls under the centre's general strategy which focuses on raising awareness about the importance of preserving the environment and encouraging the adoption of sound environmental practices and behaviours.
Bakheet Al Qubaisi, Director of Environmental and Social Services Department at Dalma Island Municipality said that the campaign aims to contribute to creating a clean environment, free of the effects of green fallout, spreading throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. "This joint effort aims to improve the aesthetic appearance of the city of Abu Dhabi and remove natural distortions, in addition to educating community members about the damage caused by these distortions," he said.
