Bechar - APS
Two people went missing Saturday morning following the floods of wadis in the region of Bechar (965-km southwest of Algiers), said the Civil Protection.
“The search to find these two people were launched as soon as their relatives informed the civil protection,” added the source.
The heavy rains recorded throughout the region since last Thursday caused the floods of the wadis.
Elements of the Civil Protection also rescued a bus transporting about twenty travelers from the floods of wadi Kaloum, near the locality of Beni-Ounif, about fifty kilometers North of Bechar, said the source.
In addition, two buses were mobilized Saturday to get passengers from a train from Oran.
Furthermore, about sixty people in danger, following the bad weather in the province these past forty eight hours, were also rescued, said the governor of Bechar Mohamed Salamani in a statement to the local radio.
Many roads have been cut off to traffic since Saturday following the bad weather that is currently affecting the province.
