Cairo - MENA
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Sunday that his country is determined to protect its rights of Nile water.
Egypt is now working on making sure the Renaissance Dam does not in any way the country's water quota, he said, adding that towards this end he was ready to travel to Ethiopia once, twice even three times until the problem is solved in a way that would fully protect Egypt's share of the Nile water.
During an interview with chief editors of news papers and official news agency (MENA), Sisi said Egypt appreciates Ethiopia's efforts to establish developmental projects, but this should not jeopardize Egypt's historic share of the river's water.
"The Ethiopian Prime Minister promised me during the last African Summit in Equatorial Guinea that the Renaissance Dam will not have any negative impact on our quota of Nile water," said Sisi.
