Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Wednesday witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding to generate electricity.
The first memo was signed between Egypt’s Electricity Holding Company and the Kuwaiti Alghanim International General Trading & Contracting Company.
The signing took place at the cabinet premises in the presence of Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker, Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company Ahmed el Hanafy and chief executive officer of the Kuwaiti Alghanim company.
This memo is meant to operate a number of power stations by the combined cycle system.
The Second memo is aimed at generating power by using natural gas as as a primary fuel and diesel as alternative.
The Kuwaiti Alghanim International General Trading & Contracting Company intends to establish a 900-megawatts power station by the combined cycle system in Alexandria governorate.
