Amman - Petra
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein called on the Civil Defence Department (CDD) to check on its emergency plans during severe weather as a low pressure system is forecast to affect the Kingdom tonight.
The prince was briefed by the CDD director general, Lt. Gen. Talal Kofahi, on the department's contingency plans and measures taken to ensure its readiness to deal with any emergencies resulting from the bad weather.
He was also reassured about services being provided by the CDD, stressing the need to ensure the highest safety standards for all citizens in their own communities, particularly in remote areas, in all weather conditions and emergencies.
Prince Hussein told the officers that His Majesty King Abdullah was proud of their work to safeguard the country and protect lives, and urged them to continue developing the abilities of CDD cadres and machinery deployed during the severe weather.
