The International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) on Sunday held its 16th meeting in collaboration with the National Center for Agricultural Research and Extension (NCARE).
Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, faculties of agriculture, The Higher Council for Science and Technology and relevant donors took part in the meeting.
The head of the ICARDA, Mahmoud Al-Suluh, pointed to the "distinguished relations" between Jordan and his organization to develop the agricultural sector in the Kingdom through implementing joint projects and exchanging expertise and training.
NCARE General Manager Fawzi Al-Shayab said the biennial meeting aims to promote productivity and the quality of strategic crops.
During the meeting, participants reviewed existing cooperation projects in the areas of improving the productivity of food crops and animal fodder as well as sustainable water management in agriculture and water harvesting. Also discussed were socio-economic studies policies to stimulate the agriculture sector and impact of climate change.
