Heavy rains poured over Damietta governorate Tuesday morning causing markets to be paralyzed and halting fishing in the Mediterranean Sea and Manzala Lake. Hospitals in the governorate were placed on maximum alert in anticipation of any possible road accidents and security patrols were deployed on high ways. Shipping and unloading movement at Damietta harbor went on normally despite the heavy rains.
