The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) continues its relief efforts for the victims of floods in Malaysia, especially in the Pahang State.
The relief programme targets providing assistance to 35,000 affected families which include 110,000 individuals in the Pahang State.
The ERC delegation in the state has distributed more relief assistance which comprises food and blankets, to thousands of affected families in the state of Pahang, northeast of Malaysia, deemed as one of the states affected the most by the floods.
Saeed Suhail Al Mazrouie, head of the ERC delegation, said that the authority is coordinating its relief assistance in Malaysia with the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS).
He also said that the team was able to reach the affected areas and distributed the aid among beneficiaries.
Al Mazrouie added that relief items were purchased from the local market as the ERC was keen on meeting the urgent needs of the affected inhabitants in the wake of the current conditions.
He also added that the authority's programme includes making provisions for boats to transport the people besieged by flood water to shelters.
