His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has made a tour in the kingdom's southern region.
HM King Hamad was informed closely about the efforts of the Supreme Council for Environment, led by HM the King's Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to preserve natural resources and wildlife and protect environment in the region.
HM the King also reviewed the progress of the Houbara Conservation Project, ordered by him in a bid to provide breeding habitats for the Houbara birds in the Southern Governorate and protect them from overhunting and poaching.
HM the King fed a Hubara bird, and affirmed the success of the project thanks to the technical support and the citizens' positive response.
