London – Caroline Kent
Owned by George V Eatertainment, Buddha Bar originally opened in London in 2008. Previously located near Waterloo Bridge, it closed after going into administration in May 2010. The new branch opened last month with a familiar menu of Asian cuisine with Pacific Rim influences. One of the key eye-catchers at the previous Buddha Bar was an iconic 18ft Buddha statue situated in the restaurant and surveying diners. However the Knightbridge re-vamp which is spread over two floors features a wall-mounted piece comprised of 207 brass Buddha figures, while crystal Chinese dragons hang from the ground floor ceiling. A must-see for fans of lush interiors.
