The Kingdom on Sunday continues to reel under extremely hot conditions, as mercury levels are expected to soar to new levels over the next two days, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
As for Monday, the JMD said, temperatures are expected to rise 6-7 degrees above their annual average, reaching 38 degrees Celsius in the capital and jumping to 45 degrees in the Gulf of Aqaba during daytime.
Mercury levels are forecast to cool down at night, bringing moderate conditions across much of the country, reaching 25 degrees in Amman and sliding to 29 in Aqaba.
Similar hot conditions are forecast to continue over the next two days as mercury levels will rise 7-8 degrees above their seasonal average, the JMD added.
