Abu Dhabi - Emirates Voice
Even as some UAE residents are braving temperatures reportedly as high as 64°C on asphalt surfaces and 58°C on dust surfaces, many others found a much needed respite from the sweltering heat with rains lashing parts of the country on Wednesday.
Moderate to heavy rains hit Masafi (Ras Al Khaimah), Al Saa (Al Ain), Qasyoura (Abu Dhabi), Al Wathba (Abu Dhabi), Hatta (Dubai) and Hamim (Abu Dhabi).
The streets of Masafi were seen flooded in a video released on NCMS_media/Twitter.
Earlier during the day, there had been a weather forecast of towering clouds formation accompanied by rainfall, winds and poor visibility by the NCMS (National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology).
The highest temperature recorded in the country was 48.7 °C in Al Dhaid and Saih Al Salem at 2:15pm and 3:45pm respectively.
