The Kingdom on Wednesday remains under the impact of the heatwave that brought hot and dry conditions across the country, pushing daytime temperatures to 37 degrees in the capital and 42 in the Gulf of Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Mercury levels will cool down at night dropping down to 26 degrees in the capital and sliding to 31 degrees in Aqaba, the JMD said.
The heatwave, which started affecting the country earlier this week is expected to taper off on Friday, when mercury levels will drop and normal summer conditions prevail in the most parts of the country, the JMD added.
