Ichabod Crane will learn to drive and sing karaoke in Season 2 of the supernatural drama series Sleepy Hollow, the show's writers and producers promise.
Based on Washington Irving's classic tale The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the hit show pairs the recently revived 18th-century soldier Crane, played by Tom Mison, with modern-day police detective Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie, to battle the evil Headless Horseman and his minions in contemporary upstate New York. Many of the drama's lighter moments come from Crane's reactions to modern-day dress, customs and technology.
Writer Raven Metzner revealed at a recent New York Comic Con roundtable interview with reporters that the series' team of scribes keeps "a giant list of 'man out of time' moments we would like to see that we all add to all the time."
"We also do, then, on our own episodes -- even though we have that list -- we are always coming up with great -- I hope great -- man out of time moments because it is just so much fun," Metzner continued. "And Tom Mison, who is just wonderful, he does every once in a while shoot an email or a text just talking about something that he thinks will be kind of hilarious for Ichabod. There's always a slant. It's never like making fun of Ichabod, like he doesn't understand it. It's always great to hear his point of view, his take on our modern world. So, Tom loves that. He'll call up and say, 'What would Ichabod think of parking meters?' And then we talk about whether we're going to do it or not."
Sleepy Hollow airs on Fox Monday nights.
