Solar Impulse grounded for repairs

The record-breaking Solar Impulse 2 plane will be grounded for repairs in Hawaii for several months, after completing nearly half of its planned round-the-world flight without using a drop of fuel, a statement said Wednesday.

"Irreversible damage to certain parts of the batteries will require repairs which will take several months," said the statement from the media relations department of the historic solar power project.
