French astronaut Thomas Pesquet and his US counterpart Shane Kimbrough wrapped up a flawless spacewalk to install new batteries outside the orbiting International Space Station on Friday, NASA said.

A NASA spokesman described the nearly six-hour spacewalk -- the first of Pesquet's career -- as "very successful."
